Description
FENICE is a mineral-based finish with high breathability. FENICE is the rebirth of the classic revisited in a modern key. Its versatility and ease of application help create both classic and trendy effects.Ready to use, FENICE is easily applied with a trowel to new or old plasters and concrete and gypsumboard surfaces. Depending on the application technique, FENICE can create numerous material effects or, using two different shades, refined two-tone patterns.FENICE prevents the onset of mildew and usual humidity-related phenomena.Based on lime, ANTICA CALCE PLUS is a product that respects health, does not release volatile substances and promotes living comfort.FENICE is available in a wide range of palette colors. When the work is finished, use water to clean the tools.
FENICE is made with attention to environmental sustainability.Use according to current health and safety regulations (face-mask, protective gloves and airing).
Application
- Suitable substrates
The product can be applied to:
New and old water-based plaster. Gypsum board surfaces. Surfaces with old mineral- or synthetic-based paint, provided they are dry, sound, absorbent, and properly prepared. Various mineral-based building mixtures, provided they are absorbent. The surface must be properly prepared in accordance with the instructions in the “Surface Preparation” section. Do not apply to damp or insufficiently dry surfaces.
- Tools
Stainless steel trowel.
- Dilution
Ready to use. FENICE, being a mineral-based material, may harden and lose its viscosity during storage. To restore its original viscosity, simply mix it thoroughly with a mechanical mixer, with the possible addition of water up to a maximum of 1%.
- Number of coats
The material must be applied in a minimum of 2 coats to prepare the substrate.
- Method
Apply the first coat of the material, distributing it evenly and smoothing it over the surface.
After 6 hours, apply the second coat to achieve a uniform thickness.
After 12 hours, sand the surface with sandpaper to remove any irregularities. Remove the dust, then apply the material in small amounts, wet-on-wet, covering the surface and polishing
- Temperature and humidity
Since the drying and carbonation (absorption of carbon dioxide) of FENICE, like all lime-based materials, are strongly affected by temperature and humidity, we recommend applying the product at temperatures between +10°C and +35°C and with ambient humidity below 75%. If it is not necessary to consolidate the substrate using a primer, we recommend dampening the substrate before applying the material. This will prevent excessive absorption of the water contained in the material’s binders and subsequent detachment of the coating from the substrate.
- Drying time
Drying time (at +25°C and 65% relative humidity): touch dry in 3 hours; subsequent coats can be applied after 6 hours, depending on the thickness of the applied layer.
