Description
GRASSELLO DI CALCE is the classic period decoration for interiors, ideal for decorating historic buildings of artistic value but also more modern context to which you want to give a refined atmosphere. Ready to use, GRASSELLO DI CALCE is applied with a trowel to new or old plasters and concrete and gypsumboard surfaces. GRASSELLO DI CALCE allows you to create decorations in classic style and with a glossy effect; always-different end solutions of unlimited combinations of shades and effects that express the decorator's creativity, for original, refined and timeless results.GRASSELLO DI CALCE is a natural wall covering that creates a very thick layer with high breathability.GRASSELLO DI CALCE prevents mildew and classic humidity/moisture-related phenomena.
Based on lime, ANTICA CALCE PLUS is a product that respects health, does not release volatile substances and promotes living comfort.Available in a wide range of palette colors.When the work is finished, use water to clean the tools.

Application
- Suitable substrates
The material can be applied to:
New and old water-based plaster. Plasterboard surfaces. Surfaces with existing mineral- or synthetic-based paint, provided they are dry, sound, non-flaking, absorbent, and properly prepared. Various mineral-based building compounds, provided that they are absorbent. The surface must be properly prepared in accordance with the instructions in the “Surface Preparation” section. Do not apply to surfaces that have not completely dried.
- Tools
Stainless steel trowel.
- Dilution
Ready to use. GRASSELLO DI CALCE is a mineral-based material and may harden or lose its original viscosity during storage. To restore its original consistency, simply mix it with a mechanical mixer. If necessary, a maximum of 1% water may be added.
- Number of coats
The material should be applied in a minimum of two coats to prepare the substrate.
- Method

- Temperature and humidity
Since the drying and carbonation process of GRASSELLO DI CALCE, like all lime-based materials, is strongly affected by temperature and humidity, we recommend applying the material at temperatures between +10°C and +35°C and at a relative ambient humidity below 75%. If there is no need to consolidate the substrate with a primer, we recommend dampening the surface before application to prevent excessive absorption of the water contained in the material’s binders, which could subsequently cause the material to detach from the substrate.
- Drying time
Drying time (at +25°C and 65% relative humidity): touch dry after 3 hours; subsequent coats can be applied after 12 hours, depending on the thickness of the applied coat.
