Description
MARMORINO CLASSICO is a mineral coating ideal for decorating indoor or outdoor surfaces to give them a noble and old-fashioned look. It is applied on both new and old plasters, concrete, plaster and gypsumboard substrates, and creates always-different and original results, with shades and color effects that depend on the decorator's skill and flair.Used outdoors, it gives the walls the charm of the stone walls of old buildings, and creates finishes very similar to those of the plasters of traditional Venetian residences. With its delicate pastel shades, MARMORINO CLASSICO is particularly suitable for restoration work in buildings of historical and artistic interest.Resistant to atmospheric agents, MARMORINO CLASSICO is a natural wall covering that creates a layer that is thick yet high-breathable.MARMORINO CLASSICO prevents the onset of mildew and other usual humidity-related phenomena.
Based on lime, MARMORINO CLASSICO is a product that respects health, does not release volatile substances and promotes living comfort.MARMORINO CLASSICO comes in a broad and complete range of palette colors.
When the work is finished, use water to clean the tools.
MARMORINO CLASSICO is made with attention to environmental sustainability.
Use according to current health and safety regulations (face-mask, protective gloves and airing).
Application
- Suitable substrates
The product can be applied to:
New and old water-based plasters. Surfaces with old mineral- or synthetic-based paint, provided they are dry, sound, absorbent and properly prepared. Various mineral building compounds, provided they are absorbent. The surface must be properly prepared in accordance with the instructions in the “Surface Preparation” section. Do not apply to damp or insufficiently dry surfaces.
Application on exterior concrete surfaces is not recommended because, despite its high vapour permeability, the product does not provide protection against the aggressive effects of carbon dioxide, which is one of the main causes of deterioration of concrete surfaces.
- Tools
Stainless steel trowel, plastic, sponge, brush.
- Dilution
Ready to use. MARMORINO CLASSICO, being a mineral-based material, may harden and lose its viscosity during storage. To restore its original viscosity, simply mix it with a mechanical mixer, with the possible addition of water up to a maximum of 1%.
- Number of coats
2.
- Temperature and humidity
Since the drying and carbonation (absorption of carbon dioxide) of MARMORINO CLASSICO, like all lime-based materials, are strongly affected by temperature and humidity, we recommend applying the product at temperatures between +10°C and +35°C and with ambient humidity below 75%. Avoid application in direct sunlight. Exposure of the undried surface with the applied lime coating to adverse atmospheric conditions, rain, high humidity, or low temperatures during the carbonation process may result in the appearance of white spots or streaks. These defects may be impossible to eliminate, especially under extreme conditions. After application, surfaces intended for exterior use must be protected from rain and moisture until completely dry (at +20°C, approximately 72 hours). If it is not necessary to consolidate the substrate using a primer, we recommend dampening the substrate before applying the material. This will prevent excessive absorption of the water contained in the material's binders and subsequent detachment of the coating from the substrate.
- Drying time
Drying time (at +25°C and 65% relative humidity): touch dry in 2–3 hours; subsequent coats can be applied after 12 hours, depending on the thickness of the applied layer.
